What Can You Learn From Being Sick?

I spent last week in bed with the flu – which is a good way to come back to basics – both in terms of asking appropriate questions and good self care.
Why this? Why now?

Germs and viruses are always with us – so they are only ever part of the story when it comes to becoming ill. The question that needs to be asked is "What has weakened my system so that I manifested this illness just now? "

Identifying the mental, emotional and/or spiritual component to our current illness or accident can help us avoid making the same mistakes over and over again.

Next time you're under the weather here are some useful questions to reflect on once you're feeling better:

  • What emotional quality do I pick up from these body symptoms?
  • What does this remind me of?
  • When have I felt like this before?
  • What do I not have to do by being sick now?
  • What is my real need at this point?
  • What do I need to do differently in future?
And in terms of self-care – both to regain health and to stay well – you can't go past my personal Peace Procedure – so I'm reposting it from when it first aired back in April.

Stay well and I'll be back again soon
